Château Croizet-Bages is a 1855 Grand Cru Classé and takes its name from the Croizet brothers, an iconic Médoc family who founded the estate in the 17th century in the heart of the hamlet of Bages in Pauillac. The château also gained international recognition at the World’s Fairs of 1878 and 1889, a legacy still reflected today in the iconic gold medals on the label.
Since 1942, the estate has been in the hands of the Quié family, when Paul Quié rediscovered the potential of the growing classified estate and restructured the vineyards with patience and dedication. Today, the work is continued by the third generation, Anne-Françoise and Jean-Philippe Quié.
Vintage 2025
The 2025 vintage was characterized by a warm and dry growing season with a very early harvest. Thanks to a few crucial rain events in late August and early September, the vines were able to adapt well, without issues related to disease or stress.
The result is a concentrated wine with supple, ripe, and refined tannins. The style is harmonious and balanced, with a long, juicy finish and lovely aromatic depth.
Ratings: 93 Decanter, 92–93 James Suckling.
