Midway through the Haut-Médoc, along the departmental road from Saint Julien-Beychevelle to Saint Laurent, just before the latter village, signs direct to the château.
At the end of a long elm-lined driveway lies the very old Château La Tour Carnet, neighboring the well-known Château de Camensac.

Originally a 13th-century castle, with the entrance gate still from that period, surrounded by a genuine moat. Later expansions in the 17th and 18th centuries, with large investments in new facilities in 1962 and 1979.

Vineyards extend over more than 42 hectares on hilly ground with gravelly clay soil, planted with 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot. Grapes are handpicked annually and strictly quality selected.

The young wine is carefully aged in oak barrels, with one-third renewed every year. The result is a very complete Haut Médoc with firm tannins and oak in youth, and precious aromas of red fruit and blackcurrants.

Château La Tour Carnet pairs excellently with all kinds of meat dishes, poultry, refined game dishes, and cheese.

Serve best at around 18°C.
