Moët & Chandon is the largest champagne house in this region. It was founded in 1743 by Claude Moët, a descendant of a Dutch family. It has grown into an impressive company, boasting 28 km of cellars and employing more than 1200 people.
Only in the precisely defined wine-growing area around the French towns of Reims and Epernay can wine be produced that is entitled to bear the name Champagne. Champagne is unique and unmatched in its kind.
The blend includes three grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, with the noble Pinot Noir accounting for the largest portion. This gives the Nectar Impérial a concentrated, rich flavor with notes of candied fruit, mild spices, and honey.
It is a semi-dry champagne with a sugar content of 33 to 50 g/l. Because of this sugar level, this champagne pairs well with desserts.
It is best served very gently poured into a champagne flute, a tall and narrow glass, at a temperature of 6° to 8 °C.
