Just after leaving the village of Saint-Julien heading west, you will find the château with its vineyards. Since the 14th century, the vineyard and château have been owned by the same family, with generations passing from father to son. The current owner, Monsieur Saintout, is also chairman of the Syndicat Vinicole Listrac and manages the Château Clarke estate of Baron Edmond de Rothschild in Listrac.
The grape varieties planted for this Château La Bridane – merlot (38%), cabernet sauvignon (30%), cabernet franc (30%), and petit verdot (2%) – thrive excellently on the poor soil of coarse sand and gravel. The roots of the vines reach deep into various soil layers to obtain sufficient nutrients.
Château La Bridane is made according to strict Médoc traditions and is carefully controlled by the owner from start to finish. The result is a wine with a crystal-clear, deep red color and a exuberant, well-developed bouquet. In the finish, it stands out for its strength and rare finesse.
