Cardhu originates from one of the oldest distilleries in Speyside. Helen Cumming, who founded the distillery in 1811 with her husband, can rightly be called the first 'whisky woman'. Enchanting and silky smooth; the 12 Year Old is a typical Cardhu with bright notes of honey and a refined, fruity character. Cardhu 12 YO has a well-balanced, smooth taste; it begins sweet and fresh and finishes with a lingering sweet smoke and dry aftertaste. The light character of this Cardhu is a perfect introduction for the beginning whisky drinker. This whisky won a silver medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition in 2014, also silver in 2016 at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and even a gold medal at The Scotch Whisky Masters in 2014. Cardhu is best enjoyed pure or with ice. The bottle is distinctive and elegant; a beautiful gift for lovers of a sweet malt.
